Psychoeducational Groups for Stress
Within a safe, familiar, collaborative and honest environment, unguarded emotional expression, the exchange of views and experiences are reinforced in order to gradually alleviate stress.
Additionally, presentations on issues regarding dementia and its consequences on the caregivers take place. Participation can be by family members or professional caregivers of patients observed at our Day Centres having received recent diagnoses. The group has a specific span (approximately 12 sessions) and consistent attendance is vital.

WHEN:
Every Friday at 11:30 - 12:30 in-person or online - through the ZOOM platform - by appointment.
HOW:
Referral to participate in the groups can be obtained through a medical professional (either the association’s or an independent one) or through one the scientific members of staff of our association. Contact our Day Centre for more information.
AIM:
The group operates as a space to reposition the issues usually concerning caregivers of patients with dementia (for example, neuropsychiatric symptoms, behavioural issues) and to gradually allow the participants the ability to deal with them more effectively.
