Day Centre For Dementia #2, Patisia
Since June 2004, the first Day Centre for Dementia has been operating in Patisia, at 120 General Daggli Street.
The purpose of the Day Centre for Dementia is the prevention, the diagnosis and the daily, systematic monitoring of patients, their occupation with activities, socialisation, the resolution of medical, social, legal and insurance problems, communication with the patients’ families, the psychological support and especially the effort to reduce the burden of the family by improving the quality of life for themselves and their patients.
To achieve this, the Day Centre for Dementia in Patisia collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers.
The Day Centre for Dementia in Patisia is part of the Operational Program “Health – Welfare 2000 – 2006”. Initially with 75% co-financing from the European Social Fund (ESF) and 25% by the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity for 18 months and then entirely from national resources.
LIAISON PROGRAM OF THE DAY CENTRE FOR DEMENTIA IN PATISIA
Within the framework of the Operational Program “ATTICA” {priority axis: 09 “Advocacy of Social Integration and Poverty and Discrimination Alleviation - Safeguarding of Social Conditions”}, WITH THE TITLE “Development of actions/structures providing services for mental health in the Region of Attica” which is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), initiated in February 2020 the “Liaison Program between the Day Centre for Dementia in Patisia with units of local authorities for the elderly” with code ΟΠΣ 5033017 at Ε.Π. «Attica 2014-2020».
The purpose of the Day Centre for Dementia in Patisia Liaison Program is the coordination and the collaboration of mental health services directed at patients of dementia-Alzheimer disease, with units of social care of elderly by local authorities (Open and Daily centres for the protection of the elderly, Κ.Α.Π.Η.-Κ.Η.Φ.Η.) and specifically:
a. Informing, supporting and training (on the job training) healthcare professionals of Open and Daily centres for the protection of the elderly, Κ.Α.Π.Η.-Κ.Η.Φ.Η. in prevention and detection of dementia disorders and in caring for Alzheimer patients.
b. The development - operation of Open and Daily centres for the protection of the elderly (Κ.Α.Π.Η.-Κ.Η.Φ.Η.), advocating for the integration of patients with dementia and Alzheimer into daily life.
At the aforementioned Program participants of Open and Daily centres for the protection of the elderly (Κ.Α.Π.Η.-Κ.Η.Φ.Η.), include the municipality of:
