2nd Psychogeriatric Boarding Home
The 2nd Boarding Home of ‘Nestor’ Psychogeriatric Association is located in 4 Aiontos Str. in Chalandri, Athens. The Boarding Home hosts 15 people, aged 66-88 years, with mental illnesses, who are in the midst of re-entering the community, coming from Public Psychiatric Hospitals or the larger community they reside in (municipalities or health districts)

- Occupational Therapist
- Physiotherapist
- Social Worker
- Nursing staff
- Staff of general duties.
A 24hour cyclic schedule is applied.
The daily schedule of the residents relies mostly on Occupational Therapy and includes memory workshops, social skills, baking, cooking, gardening, cinema club, art activities, dancing and singing. Alongside this, the rehabilitation program of the residents includes various community activities, such as excursions, walks, theatre, cinema, celebrations and church attendance.
Our goal is to maximise the capacity of residents by increasing their functionality, obtaining autonomy, learning social skills, reintegrating into society and avoiding stigmatisation.
Both Boarding Houses are part of the Operational Program “Health – Welfare 2000 – 2006”. Initially with 75% co-financing from the European Social Fund (ESF) and 25% by the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity for 18 months and then entirely from national resources.
All our services are completely free of charge!
